About West Hills Chiropractic Pain Center
A movement-based chiropractic and rehabilitation clinic serving Huntington and Long Island — built around identifying root causes, not managing symptoms indefinitely.
Our Philosophy
Pain is a signal. We identify what it’s pointing to.
Most pain treatment is reactive: find where it hurts, reduce the inflammation, mobilize the tissue, discharge the patient. For acute injuries in otherwise well-moving bodies, this often works. But for patients with persistent or recurring pain — the majority of the patients we see — the tissue is rarely the whole story.
Pain is almost always downstream of a movement problem. A joint that’s being loaded wrong. A stabilization system that isn’t activating. A phase of gait that’s been missing for years, silently distributing force to structures not built to handle it. Treat the tissue without correcting the movement, and the same tissue loads incorrectly the moment the patient returns to activity.
Our clinical approach is built around finding and fixing that upstream problem — using neuromuscular frameworks developed at the Prague School of Rehabilitation, validated in European sports medicine, and applied here on Long Island. We take the time to find the cause because the cause is the only thing worth treating.
What We Treat
Spinal, musculoskeletal, and movement-related conditions.
We are a specialty clinic with a focused scope. If your condition falls outside what we can best address, we will tell you and direct you appropriately. Within our scope, we offer depth that generalist chiropractic or PT clinics typically cannot match.
Spinal Decompression
Non-surgical VAX-D spinal decompression for herniated discs, bulging discs, spinal stenosis, and disc-related nerve pain. Three tables on-site in Huntington. One of the highest-volume VAX-D programs on Long Island.
Sports Rehabilitation
Movement-pattern rehabilitation for athletes and active patients with recurring sports injuries. DNS and AiM applied specifically to sport-related injury patterns and return-to-sport goals.
Physical Rehabilitation
Root-cause rehabilitation for post-surgical patients, chronic pain sufferers, and anyone whose pain has outlasted their previous treatment. DNS, AiM, and progressive corrective exercise.
Disc & Spinal Conditions
Herniated and bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, pinched nerve, spinal stenosis, and chronic neck and back pain. Non-surgical approach preferred wherever clinically appropriate.
Auto Accident Injury
Whiplash, cervical strain, and soft-tissue injury rehabilitation for patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents. We work with personal injury cases and can coordinate with attorneys and adjusters.
Our Clinical Edge
Why patients drive from across Long Island.
Prague School DNS Training
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization is the movement rehabilitation system developed and taught by Pavel Kolar at Charles University in Prague. DNS-credentialed clinicians are rare in the United States and uncommon in New York. We are one of the few on Long Island.
Anatomy in Motion Certification
AiM is a whole-body gait analysis and movement reset system developed by Gary Ward. AiM-trained practitioners identify the missing phase in the gait cycle that causes compensatory loading elsewhere in the kinetic chain — often the key to unlocking treatment-resistant musculoskeletal pain.
VAX-D Spinal Decompression
VAX-D (Vertebral Axial Decompression) is the FDA-cleared non-surgical treatment for disc herniations, spinal stenosis, and failed back surgery syndrome. West Hills has been providing VAX-D decompression since 1997 — one of the longest-running VAX-D practices on Long Island. Three tables on-site, structural and movement treatment fully integrated, no referrals out.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Workup
Every patient receives a full movement screen, gait analysis, orthopedic and neurological evaluation, and — where indicated — review of imaging. We do not rush to treatment. We find the upstream cause first.
