Chiropractic Care in Huntington, NY

Back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint stiffness often share a common root: spinal dysfunction that disrupts how your joints move and how your nervous system communicates. Chiropractic care corrects that dysfunction directly — without drugs, without injections, and without surgery.

At West Hills Chiropractic Pain Center, we combine spinal adjustments with soft tissue therapy and corrective exercise to deliver lasting relief, not just temporary comfort.

Patients drive to our Huntington office from across northern Long Island — Dix Hills, Melville, Greenlawn, Cold Spring Harbor, Northport, Commack, and surrounding communities.

What Chiropractic Care Treats

Chiropractic care is most commonly associated with back pain — but the scope is broader. Any condition where joint dysfunction or nerve irritation contributes to your symptoms may respond to chiropractic treatment. Below are the conditions we most commonly treat at our Huntington office.

Lower Back Pain

Mechanical low back pain, lumbar facet syndrome, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and disc-related back pain.

Neck Pain & Cervical Stiffness

Mechanical neck pain, cervical facet dysfunction, “tech neck,” and pain from poor postural habits.

Learn more →

Sciatica & Lumbar Radiculopathy

Radiating leg pain from lumbar nerve compression — chiropractic combined with VAX-D decompression addresses both the mechanical compression and the resulting nerve irritation.

Learn more →

Disc Herniation & Bulging Discs

Conservative care for disc-related pain — chiropractic adjustments combined with VAX-D spinal decompression are our specialty for disc herniation cases.

Learn more →

Tension & Cervicogenic Headaches

Headaches that originate from cervical dysfunction often resolve with targeted chiropractic care.

Learn more →

Whiplash & Auto Accident Injuries

Cervical strain, soft-tissue injury, and joint dysfunction following motor vehicle collisions. We document for no-fault insurance and personal injury cases.

Learn more →

Shoulder & Hip Joint Pain

Joint dysfunction, capsular restriction, and referred pain. We assess whether the source is the joint itself or referred from spinal segments.

Learn more →

Sports Injuries

Muscle strains, tendinopathies, overuse injuries, and sport-specific biomechanical problems. We combine chiropractic care with sports rehabilitation to help you return to performance.

Learn more →

Workers’ Compensation Injuries

Work-related back, neck, and joint injuries — including lifting injuries, repetitive strain, and slip-and-falls. We are authorized for New York workers’ compensation and document your case from day one.

Learn more →

Chronic Pain & Postural Imbalances

Long-standing pain that hasn’t responded to other care, postural compensations, and movement dysfunction. These cases benefit most from our integrated team approach.

Learn more →

Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction

Pain at the base of the spine and into the buttock or upper leg — often misdiagnosed as sciatica or hip pain. SI dysfunction responds well to specific chiropractic technique.

Learn more →

Mid-Back & Thoracic Pain

Postural pain, thoracic facet dysfunction, and rib-related pain — common in office workers and patients with postural imbalances.

OUR APPROACH · HUNTINGTON, NY

Built for Complex Cases

Most back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, and sports injuries aren’t simple — and the people we see usually know that already. They’ve tried other care. They’re still in pain. At West Hills Chiropractic Pain Center, your Huntington chiropractor since 1981, we work with complex cases: disc herniation, nerve compression, athletic injuries, post-accident pain, work-related injuries, and chronic problems that haven’t responded to other treatment.

Real recovery usually takes more than one thing. That’s why we combine chiropractic adjustments with VAX-D non-surgical spinal decompression, sports rehabilitation, and corrective exercise — so we’re treating the whole picture, not just the symptom you walked in with.

Patients drive to our Huntington office from across Long Island — Huntington Station, Melville, Commack, Dix Hills, Greenlawn, Cold Spring Harbor, Northport, and surrounding Suffolk County communities. Over 40 years, more than 100,000 adjustments, and a lot of patients back to the life they wanted. We accept No-Fault, workers’ compensation, and most major insurance.

If you’ve been carrying pain that won’t quit, we’d like to help.

How We Deliver Chiropractic Care

We don’t apply the same adjustment to every patient. Your spine, your history, and your goals are unique — and your treatment should reflect that. Here’s what sets our approach apart.

Thorough Initial Examination

Before any treatment begins, we perform a full orthopedic and neurological evaluation — including postural analysis, range of motion testing, and orthopedic provocation tests. We want to understand what’s actually driving your symptoms. All evaluations are performed by one of our three Doctors of Chiropractic — never delegated to a technician or assistant.

Spinal Adjustments

Precise, controlled manipulations that restore proper joint motion, reduce nerve irritation, and relieve pain. We use multiple adjustment techniques and always choose the most appropriate one for your condition and comfort level.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Spinal adjustments work best when paired with muscle work. We use trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and instrument-assisted techniques to address the muscle tension that contributes to your joint dysfunction.

Therapeutic Modalities

Electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and heat or cold therapy to manage pain and inflammation — particularly during the acute phase of treatment when your body most needs support.

Corrective Exercise

Adjustments correct the joint. Exercise keeps it corrected. We prescribe specific rehabilitative exercises to strengthen the muscles that support your spine and prevent the problem from returning.

Posture & Lifestyle Guidance

Many spinal problems are driven by how we sit, stand, sleep, and move throughout the day. We identify the habits contributing to your condition and give you practical, actionable guidance to change them.

Your First Visit and Beyond

Most patients walk in unsure of what to expect. Here’s exactly how we work — from your first phone call through long-term recovery — so you know what’s ahead.

01

History & Examination

Your first visit is an evaluation, not just a treatment. We take a detailed history, review any imaging you have, and perform a thorough orthopedic and neurological exam. Most new-patient evaluations run 45–60 minutes — we don’t rush diagnosis.

02

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

We explain what we found, what it means, and what we recommend. You’ll leave knowing your diagnosis, the expected timeline, and clear benchmarks for measuring progress. If we don’t think chiropractic is the right approach for your case, we’ll tell you that too.

03

Active Treatment Phase

Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and modalities as needed. Most patients are seen 2–3 times per week during the initial phase, with sessions running 30–45 minutes. As pain reduces and function returns, visit frequency steps down.

04

Stabilization & Independence

As your condition resolves, we transition you to a home exercise program designed to prevent recurrence. We don’t believe in indefinite “maintenance” plans — when you’re better, you’re done. For chronic patients who want optional periodic check-ins, that option exists, but it’s a choice, not a requirement.

Chiropractic Care FAQ

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is one of the safest and most evidence-supported treatments available for musculoskeletal pain. Serious adverse events are extremely rare. We perform a thorough evaluation before treatment to identify any contraindications, and we discuss all treatment options with you before proceeding.

Will I hear a “crack” during my adjustment?

Often yes, though not always. That sound is called a cavitation — it’s gas being released from the joint fluid and is harmless. If you’re uncomfortable with traditional manipulation, we offer low-force adjustment techniques that are equally effective and involve no audible release.

How long will my treatment take?

It depends on your condition, how long you’ve had it, and how your body responds. Acute issues often resolve in 4—8 visits. Chronic problems — disc herniation, long-standing back pain, post-surgical recovery — typically need 12—20 sessions over 8—12 weeks.

After the initial diagnostic exam, we’ll lay out a specific plan with expected timeline and benchmarks. We don’t believe in indefinite “maintenance” plans — when you’re better, you’re done.

Can chiropractic care help with headaches?

Yes, particularly tension-type headaches and cervicogenic headaches (headaches originating from the neck). Spinal dysfunction in the cervical spine is a common and underdiagnosed driver of chronic headaches. Chiropractic adjustments combined with soft tissue therapy can significantly reduce both frequency and intensity.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to see a chiropractor. You can call us directly and schedule. If your insurance requires a referral for coverage, we can advise you on that when you call. Reach us at (631) 659-2980.

Is chiropractic covered by insurance?

Most major health insurance plans, Medicare, and many workers’ compensation and auto insurance policies cover chiropractic care. Coverage varies significantly by plan. Call your insurer to verify your chiropractic benefits before your first visit, or call us at (631) 659-2980 and we’ll help you figure it out.
